The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Squirt B2 team has advanced to the championship game in its division at this year’s Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA) Playoffs.

The club will take on the California Wave in the winner-take-all finale this Saturday (March 25) at 1 p.m. at El Segundo’s Toyota Sports Center (NHL rink) for the right to be crowned champions.

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Lily Yovetich has committed to attend and play her NCAA Division I hockey at Northeastern University following her youth and junior careers.

Yovetich, a defenseman, is currently in her second season patrolling the blue line for the Anaheim Lady Ducks’ 16U AAA team, which recently celebrated the Pacific District championship in its division while punching its ticket to next month’s USA Hockey National Championships.

Two former Los Angeles Jr. Kings - Garrett Gamez and Josh Wilkins - will compete in this year’s NCAA Division I national tournament, which begins this weekend with regionals at various locations around the country.

Both members of Providence College, which is ranked No. 13 nationally, Gamez is a sophomore forward on the club; Wilkins is a freshman forward.

Attention HockeyKinetix Participants,

Please be advised that due to the high demand we're experiencing at all levels of this year's HockeyKinetix Spring Development Program, we're regrettably unable to accommodate drop-in participation.

Please keep in mind we have six (6) groupings each with 16 hours of instruction, which makes it difficult to manage the participation of day-of, drop-in players.

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Nick Kent was one of 46 of the top American hockey players born in 2001 invited to this year’s USA Hockey National Team Development Program Evaluation Camp.

The camp, which will help select the 2017-18 U.S. National Under-17 Team, will take place from March 24-28 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

Kent, a defenseman from Ladera Ranch, is in his second season skating at Delta Hockey Academy, which is located in British Columbia.
