Yamamoto selected in USHL draft

Los Angeles Jr. Kings 16U AAA Major forward Kailer Yamamoto was selected in Phase I of this year’s United States Hockey League (USHL) Draft, which was conducted today (Monday).

Yamamoto was taken in the third round by the Dubuque Fighting Saints.

Phase I of the USHL Draft is reserved for 1998-borns players. Phase II, which will be conducted tomorrow (Tuesday), is open to all players eligible to play junior hockey in 2014-15 and not currently protected by a USHL team.

Yamamoto was also one of 52 of the top American players born in 1998 invited to this year’s USA Hockey's National Team Development Program (NTDP) Evaluation Camp.

The USHL is the only Tier I junior league sanctioned by USA Hockey and has produced countless NCAA Division I and NHL players.
