Three graduates ready for NCAA Tournament

Three former Los Angeles Jr. Kings will compete in this year’s NCAA Division I national tournament, which begins this weekend with regionals at various locations around the country.

Among them is Boston College sophomore goaltender Thatcher Demko. The Vancouver Canucks selected the San Diego native in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, and this year he was named a Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star after posting a 19-12-3 record to compliment a 2.14 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

The other two Jr. Kings graduates participating in this year’s NCAA tourney are University of Denver junior forward Gabe Levin (Marina del Rey) and Quinnipiac University junior defenseman Alex Barron (Glendora).

The winners of their respective NCAA regionals this weekend will advance to the Frozen Four in Boston, where the semifinals will be played on April 9 and the championship game on April 11.
