Squirt A club celebrates Grizz Cup title

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Squirt A team took home the top prize in its division at this year’s Grizz Cup, which was showcased last weekend in Salt Lake City.

The Jr. Kings forged a perfect 5-0 record at the tournament, including a 4-3 triumph over the host Utah Jr. Grizzlies in the championship game.

The Squirts opened the event with a 12-0 win over the Park City Ice Miners, followed by victories over the Nevada Storm (3-1), Summit Selects (11-0) and Idaho Jr. Steelheads (13-0).

“It was another outstanding effort from the entire lineup,” said Jr. Kings head coach Andrew Stone. “This group really understands the value of teamwork, and it’s paying off for them on the ice.”

The Jr. Kings’ Squirts also celebrated the championship in its bracket at this year’s Coyotes Cup, which was played in Phoenix over the holidays.
