Spaghetti Dinner & Fundraiser a winner

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings hosted their fifth annual Spaghetti Dinner & Fundraiser earlier this month, and by all accounts the evening proved to be a winner.

A signature fundraising event for organization’s individual teams, 20 participated this season with over 400 people in attendance at El Segundo’s Toyota Sports Center (TSC) - home of the Jr. Kings - to enjoy a spaghetti meal provided by Sharks Cove, along with ice skating and plenty of other entertainment throughout the night.

A handful of teams raised over $3,000 through silent auctions and other merchandise sales, according to Renee Vachon, who coordinated the evening.

“This is always such a fun and spirited event, and it was great to see so many of our teams participating,” said Vachon. “We can’t thank everybody enough for coming out and helping make the night such a success.”

Traditionally held closer to the holiday season, this year’s Nov. 1 date called for a Halloween-themed gathering that featured a costume contest with cash prizes awarded to the winners.

The Los Angeles Kings’ Ice Crew and Chariot Staff were also in attendance, as was the popular Floyd’s 99 Barbershop van, which offered haircuts in the parking lot of TSC.

“We take a lot of pride in making this fundraiser something the entire family can enjoy, and we’re already looking forward to making it bigger and better next year,” Vachon added.
