Seven advance to SCAHA semis

Seven Los Angeles Jr. Kings A, BB and B teams advanced to the semifinals of the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA) playoffs after finishing in the top four in their respective divisions in the preliminary round of the tournament, which was showcased last weekend at various rinks in the area.

All semifinals will be contested on March 15-16 at The Rinks-Anaheim Ice.

The Jr. Kings' Midget 18U A team finished with a perfect 3-0 record in the preliminary round and will face off against the Anaheim Jr. Ducks in the semis on Sunday (7 p.m.).

In the Bantam B squad went 2-1 to advance to the semis, where they’ll take on Orange County Hockey Club on Saturday (8 a.m.).

The Jr. Kings' Pee Wee A3 team forged a flawless 3-0 mark in the round robin of its division and will square off against the California Titans on Sunday in its semis (4 p.m.).

In the Squirt A division, Jr. Kings 1 went 2-1, while Jr. Kings 2 finished with a perfect 3-0 record. The two will square off against each other in the division semifinals on Sunday (10 a.m.).

The Squirt BB3 team finished the preliminary round with a 2-1 record, including a valiant effort in its final game. It will play the California Wave in its semis on Saturday (2 p.m.).

The Jr. Kings’ Squirt B squad went 2-1 in the preliminary round of the playoffs, and will tangle with the California Heat in its division’s semis on Saturday (10 a.m.).

The semis winners in each division will advance to the finals, which will run from March 22-23 at El Segundo’s Toyota Sports Center.

The champions of each division will compete in the California Amateur Hockey Association state championships, which will be showcased from April 11-13 at Sharks-Ice San Jose.
