Pochiro inks with Blues

Zach Pochiro, who played for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings' 16U AAA team during the 2010-11 season, has agreed to a three-year entry-level contract with the NHL's St. Louis Blues.

Pochiro, 20, has spent the past two years with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League. Through 63 games this season, the 6-foot-1, 162-pounder ranked third in club scoring with 66 points (27 goals) while leading the team with 123 penalty minutes.

Prior to the Blues' training camp, the forward represented St. Louis at the 2013 Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Mich., where he posted two points (one goal) and eight penalty minutes in four games.

Originally born in St. Louis and a native of Las Vegas, Pochiro was drafted by the Blues in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Ponchiro was coached in L.A. by current Bantam AA1 coach Brandon Convery.
