O’Neill advances to finals of Ducks' One-On-One Shootout Tourney

Goaltender Philip O’Neill of the Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Pee Wee AA1 team advanced to the Pee Wee division finals of the 6th Annual Anaheim Ducks One-On-One Shootout Tournament, presented by Hockey Giant, after stopping every shot he faced in the semifinals, which were contested on Nov. 17 at Honda Center in Anaheim.

O’Neill, who made a paddle save on the final shot he faced, bested the opposing Pee Wee goaltender, who allowed one goal.

A total of 540 shooters and goaltenders in seven divisions participated from the opening qualifier, with O’Neill making it through the Rounds of 16, 8 and 4 to head to the finals, which will be held on Dec. 4 at Honda Center during the first intermission of the Ducks-San Jose Sharks game.

Sandrine Ponnath of the Anaheim Jr. Ducks’ 03 AAA team was the other Pee Wee goalie to advance to the finals. Naveen Gupta (Jr. Ducks 03 AAA) and Bobby Doukov (California Heat) are the two shooters O'Neill and Ponnath will face.
