The Los Angeles Jr. Kings and Twin Peaks Join Forces

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings has joined forces with Twin Peaks for a cause that touches all of us, Breast Cancer.  Did you know that 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime and that 88% of women diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer survive beyond 5 years, whereas only 15% will survive when diagnosed with Stage 4.  Twin Peaks has a twin purpose, it’s mission is to eliminate stage 4 breast cancer through education and early detection and it’s goal is to help organizations, like our own LA Jr. Kings to raise funds to offset the cost of hockey by selling high quality, affordable cosmetics.  The Twin Peaks cosmetics company was founded by a hockey player/coach that started his initiative when his best friend’s wife Jane was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.  We believe that this club initiative will help teach us all that we are part of the solution and that early detection and education starts at home.

The concept of having our children selling cosmetics may seem odd, but we feel it is offset by the valuable investment in teaching compassion for the threat of breast cancer that has recently touched many of our own Jr. Kings families. Over the past month, we have spent numerous hours researching the products we are selling and are confident that all of our players can sell these cosmetics for the benefit of Breast Cancer awareness.

For every $20.00 sale, $5.00 will go to your team assessment account, $5.00 will go toward the Jr. kings Financial Assistance program, approximately $7.00 will go toward the production costs of the lip gloss and the remaining $3.00 per sale will be donated to (http://www.breastlink.com) on behalf of the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.

Jane is now in hospice and our hearts and dedication for this cause go out to the founders of Twin Peaks.
