Grads Jackson, Texeira recognized by NHL Central Scouting

Two former Los Angeles Jr. Kings - Robby Jackson and Keoni Texeira - were recognized by NHL Central Scouting on its “Players to Watch” list for 2015 draft-eligibles, which was released today (Tuesday).

Both Jackson, a forward from Alameda, and Texeira, a defenseman from Fontana, were tabbed as C-rated prospects (potential fourth-, fifth- or sixth-round draft selections).

Jackson, a St. Cloud State University recruit, is playing his second season with the United States Hockey League’s Chicago Steel; Texeira is in his second year patrolling the blue line for the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks.

Jackson will also participate in this year's CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, which will be held on Thursday (Sept. 25) in Buffalo. The game assembles the top U.S. players eligible for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

NHL Central Scouting will release its midseason rankings of 2015 draft-eligibles in January, followed by its final rankings in April.

The 2015 NHL Entry Draft will be conducted on June 26-27 in Sunrise, Fla.
