Four Los Angeles Jr. Kings teams will participate in the California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) boys Tier II state playdowns this weekend (Feb. 21-23) at Iceoplex-Simi Valley and Ice Station Valencia with the hopes of advancing to the state tournament in their respective divisions.

The Jr. Kings’ Pee Wee AA 2 team (4-6-2 in CAHA regular-season play), coached by Jason Flick, will open its playdowns against the Golden State Elite Eagles on Friday (5:30 p.m.) at Iceoplex-Simi Valley, while its Pee Wee AA 3 team (10-2), led by Andrew Stone, will take on the Santa Clara Blackhawks at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.

In the Bantam AA division, the Jr. Kings’ 1 squad (13-2-1), led by Brandon Convery, will commence playdowns in its bracket on Friday (12:30 p.m.) against San Jose Jr. Sharks 1, also in Simi Valley.

The Jr. Kings’ Midget 16U AA team (7-5-3), coached by John Sikich, will begin playdowns on Saturday (11:50 a.m.) at Ice Station Valencia against OC Hockey Club 1.

The top eight teams in each division in CAHA regular-season play qualify for state playdowns, which will use a double-elimination format.

The top four teams at the conclusion of playdowns will advance to the state tournament, which will run from March 14-16 at Ice Station Valencia.
