Eight off to SCAHA playoffs

Eight Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ A, BB and B teams teams will compete in the upcoming Southern California Amateur Hockey Association (SCAHA) playoffs, which will be contested from March 8-9 at various rinks in the area.

The Midget 18U A team, coached by Chet Carlbom, will play at Iceoplex Simi Valley; the Bantam B squad, led by Jeff Bain, will compete at Iceoplex Escondido; the Pee Wee A3 squad, coached by James Gasseau, at Channel Islands Ice Center; the Squirt A1 (Gasseau) and A2 (Daniel Kim) teams at Pickwick Ice in Burbank; the Squirt BB2 (Jeff Bruckner) and BB3 (Nick Vachon) teams at The Rinks-Yorba Linda Ice; and the Squirt B club (Bruckner) at Channel Islands.

The top four teams after each division’s round robin will advance to the semifinals, which will be played on March 15-16 at The Rinks-Anaheim Ice. The semis winners in each division will advance to finals, which will run from March 22-23 at El Segundo’s Toyota Sports Center.

The champions of each division will compete in the California Amateur Hockey Association state championships, which will be showcased from April 11-13 at Sharks-Ice San Jose.
