Demko a Hobey Hat Trick finalist

Boston College junior goaltender Thatcher Demko, a former Los Angeles Jr. King, was named one of the three finalists for this year’s Hobey Baker Award, given annually to college hockey’s top player.

Demko, a San Diego native, leads the country with 10 shutouts and helped the Eagles reach this year’s Frozen Four. The Vancouver Canucks draft pick was named the Most Outstanding Player of last week’s Northeast Regional and was also named co-Player of the Year in Hockey East.

In 38 appearances this season, Demko holds a 27-7-4 record to compliment a 1.84 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage.

University of Michigan freshman forward Kyle Connor and Harvard University senior forward Jimmy Vesey are the other finalists for the Hobey.

The award will be presented on Friday, April 8, in Tampa. The 3 p.m. PDT ceremony will be televised by NHL Network.
