Cayla Barnes Selected to Girls National Team Camp

Cayla Barnes Selected to Girls National Team Camp

The Jr. Kings would like to congratulate Cayla Barnes on becoming the first female in Jr. Kings history to be selected to the Girls National Team Camp in St. Cloud, Minnesota. From July 19-25, 2013, Cayla will be competing against the best girls in her age group in front of college scouts, national team scouts, Olympic scouts, and some very influential people in the women’s hockey community. Needless to say – it’s a big deal for Cayla and the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.

Cayla started playing hockey at age three. Her three older brothers played hockey and their love for the game was too strong to keep Cayla off the ice. She started her skating career as a figure skater but quickly made the transition to hockey skates.

After eleven years playing the game and as a current member of the Jr, Kings 99 Bantam AAA boys team, Cayla has the extraordinary chance to showcase her skills on a national level. The knowledge and experience she’ll gain from the National Team Camp will have influence on her game for the rest of her life.

Best of luck Cayla, we are very proud of you.
