Alum Sarthou recognized by NHL Central Scouting

Former Los Angeles Jr. Kings goaltender Evan Sarthou was recognized by NHL Central Scouting on its “Players to Watch” list for 2016 draft-eligibles, which was released today (Tuesday).

Sarthou, a Washington native now in his third year stopping pucks for the Western Hockey League’s Tri-City (Wash.) Americans, is listed as a B-rated prospect (a potential second- or third-round selection).

Sarthou, who participated in this month's Buffalo-hosted CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, which assembled the top U.S. players eligible for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, was also invited to August's U.S. World Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid.

He also helped backstop the U.S. to a gold medal at April's International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 World Championship, which was showcased in Switzerland.

NHL Central Scouting will release its midterm rankings in January.

The 2016 NHL Entry Draft will be conducted on June 24-25 at Buffalo’s First Niagara Center.
