Alum Jacobson commits to Arizona State University

Former Los Angeles Jr. Kings goaltender David Jacobson has committed to play his NCAA Division I hockey at Arizona State University beginning next season.

Jacobson, from Calabasas, appeared in 13 regular-season games this season for the British Columbia Hockey League’s Chilliwack Chiefs, posting a 10-5 record to compliment a 2.77 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.

Through 12 postseason games - the Chiefs are in the semifinals of the playoffs - he holds an 8-3 record to go along with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.

Jacobson was a part of the Jr. Kings’ 18U AAA team - led by coach Jack Bowkus - that finished runner-up at the USA Hockey National Championships in 2012.

Jacobson, who began the year with the Bloomington (Ill.) Thunder of the United States Hockey League (USHL), also spent time playing juniors with the USHL’s Sioux Falls Stampede and Eastern Junior Hockey League’s New Hampshire Monarchs the previous two seasons.
